Danby DBC120BLS – The Pros
We are very impressed with the overall look and functionality of this machine. The stainless steel trim with black shiny exterior has a look of a cooler much more expensive than it is. It is also the perfect size if you entertain often or like having many different options of beverages cooling at once and don’t want to take up space in your refrigerator.
We found that this unit is also solidly built. Temperatures were consistently held at 37 degrees keeping our pop and beer at the perfect coldness. You may have to do some fine touches with the temperature knob because it is a little sensitive, but we were able to find the right level for our tastes. The door closes and seals nicely with no leaks of cold air. Overall it seems to be a well designed machine for this price range.
This machine is also a really good size for its price. You will find that other machines of this size are more expensive than this one. They may be quieter (see below), but if you are keeping this beverage cooler somewhere that it doesn’t matter, you’ll be happy with this beverage fridge.
Danby DBC120BLS – The Cons
The one beef I have with the unit is with the spacing of the wires on the shelves. If you are filling the fridge with cans, the spacing causes some of them to tip over too easily. You’ll find that you will have to be fairly careful when loading or removing cans so as to not tip any. At this price though, this is a fairly minor annoyance. I used it to store beer bottles and kegs as well and it works great.
The other con is the noise. This unit is a bit louder than some of the other beverage coolers you can get, but if you are keeping it in the garage or in a room that noise doesn’t matter then it isn’t a problem. I wouldn’t purchase this unit if I was going to keep it in a media or family room.
There are some earlier reviews of this item getting damaged during shipping, but those problems appear to be in the past. When we received ours it was double boxed and arrived without a scratch. They likely read the reviews and remedied their packaging.

If you are looking for a small beverage cooler that holds a large selection of beverages then you will be happy with this cooler. The other coolers in this category are quite a bit more expensive than this unit, making this Danby beverage cooler an excellent buy; which is probably why it is so popular.
